On a short walk one day, and I couldn't help myself from picking an exquisite, perfectly formed, shiny, upright grape leaf in my path. By the time I arrived at my destination, a mere few minutes away, the leaf had wilted pitifully, become dull and nearly lifeless. It expired in my hand. This verse came to mind, which reminds us that only by Grace is life sustained in the Universe, moment to moment.
